After 7 wins and 2 ties out of 9 qualifying matches, Team 1111 ranked 9th out of 59 teams going into the finals. Our team selected Team 620 from James Madison High School (Vienna, VA) and Rookie Team 3283 Clarksburg High School (Clarksburg, MD) as our alliance partners. The alliance, led by Team 1111, progressed to the finals to place 7th overall. Also worth noting, our robot put us on the scoreboard first four times, by finding and kicking the ball in the autonomous mode from mid-field!

Additionally, Team 1111 won two awards. The Engineering Inspiration Award  – which celebrates outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within a team’s school and community. This award qualifies us to compete again for this award at the Championships in Atlanta. We also won the Team Spirit Award sponsored by Chrysler –  which celebrates extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit through exceptional partnership and teamwork.

Who We Are...

The South River High School Power Hawks Robotics Team, team #1111, is a non-profit organization of students and adult mentors dedicated to the practical education of future engineers based in Edgewater, Maryland. The Power Hawks improve their science, technology, engineering, and math skills, learn to cooperatively problem solve, and develop self-confidence, communication skills, and leadership.
