Hopefully everyone is staying warm and cozy or is out playing in the snow. I appreciate all the mentors who hosted slumber parties on Friday night to work on robots. Hopefully everyone is making progress in their respective sub teams. Tomorrow's meeting is still up in the air. I don't suppose that we will have school, but if the roads are clear enough by night fall I'd like to at least meet at the school with all captains and mentors and mission essential personnel that can make it. That way we can strategize about the rest of the week and how we are to move forward. Remember, this Tuesday marks only TWO WEEKS LEFT!!!!

Also, whenever we do finally make it back to school, please remember to bring in your care package stuff for Kirk, the soldier that we adopted. Here's what he needs:
What to bring:
• single drink mix powders like gatoraid and propel
• socks (11-12 shoe size)
• t-shirts (LG)
• toothbrush/toothpaste
• books
• magazines (men's journal/men's health/Maxim)
• snacks: sealed beef jerky, granola bars, power bars
• unscented baby wipes
• Cottonelle in the resealable pocket sized package
• good quality toilet paper
• hand lotion, eye drops
• hacky sack
• silly string
• gag gifts

Stay safe everyone. Keep checking your email.

Who We Are...

The South River High School Power Hawks Robotics Team, team #1111, is a non-profit organization of students and adult mentors dedicated to the practical education of future engineers based in Edgewater, Maryland. These motivated students annually design and build a robot to compete locally and nationally in the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics competition. The Power Hawks improve their science, technology, engineering, and math skills, learn to cooperatively problem solve, and develop self-confidence, communication skills, and leadership.
Please enjoy your time on our site and feel free to explore. Be sure to read our latest news and updates.
